The 4-H Horse project encourages youth to strive for a deeper understanding of horses by educating youth on health conditions, first aid, different breeds and color variations, proper riding techniques, cleaning and grooming. Youth will also be educated on tack such as halters, lead ropes, bridles, and saddles of all different types along with what their specific purpose is. Youth will also have opportunities to compete in many local horse shows in divisions such as pole bending, speed barrels, single stake, speedball, and more.
