4-H is a nationwide youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential through hands-on learning experiences. Rooted in the values of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, 4-H offers programs in agriculture, science, leadership, and civic engagement. With the support of caring adult mentors, members build life skills, confidence, and a commitment to community service—preparing them to thrive in school, careers, and life.

4-H helps young people to reach their full potential as competent, confident, caring leaders of character who are connected to others, and contribute to their communities.

4-H serves youth throughout the United States in urban, suburban and rural communities.

In 4-H, youth design and participate in their own programs and activities. This unique learn-by-doing model teaches essential skills that youth will use throughout their lives, such as desiring knowledge, setting goals, self-reflection, adapting to new situations, communicating, and responding to the needs of others.
